Kazakhstan and Turkey strengthen cooperation in the field of space satellite systems

ANKARA. KAZINFORM - At the invitation of Turkish Aerospace, representatives of Kazkosmos enterprises got acquainted with the company's production facilities by visiting the assembly and testing complex and the space technology design bureau, Kazinform correspondent reports.

As you know, Turkish Aerospace independently designed and built the TurkSat-6A heavy class spacecraft. During a visit to the assembly and testing complex, the Kazakh delegation demonstrated the spacecraft itself and its engineering models and had the opportunity to see the work of the design bureau.

Considering that today the main platform for building telecommunication satellites of Turkish Aerospace and its subsidiary GSatCom is the SmallGeo platform, it is possible to consider the use of this product in order to create the KazSat-3R space communication system, - the deputy board of JSC “Republican Center of Space Communication” (JSC “RCSC”) Vasily Leonov.

During the meeting, Turkish and Kazakh experts discussed plans for a project to create a joint communications satellite in the interests of the countries of Central Asia and the Organization of Turkic States.

Turkish Aerospace expressed its readiness to support the possibility of implementing such a joint project, act as a technological platform and take part not only in the creation of a space system but also in the transfer of technologies for the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the advanced training of Kazakhstani aerospace industry specialists.

“We have a lot in common in the history of the creation of satellite systems, and technological capabilities, so the experience in the development and production of space technology of our Turkish colleagues is very important to us. We are for long-term strategic cooperation in terms of joint development and creation of space systems, technology exchange, and advanced training of specialists in the field of space systems on the basis of Turkish and Kazakhstani companies,” said Malik Zhuiriktayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “RCSC”.

The parties are preparing a memorandum, according to which the parties will work out the possibilities of using Turkish Aerospace technical solutions in the implementation of promising projects of satellite communication systems in the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the direct involvement of the production capacities of both parties.

The document is planned to be signed at the international forum on digital technologies, business, and IT "Digital Bridge -2022", which will be held in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the end of September.
